	To enable the members of the Institute to gain recognized qualifications that will elevate their status and advance their career.
	To help the members of the Institute to keep abreast of developments in advanced techniques and practices in the field of Automotive Engineering.
	To foster and provide training and other facilities to improve the knowledge and skill of those engaged in the automotive industry in Sri Lanka.
	To take such steps as will help to raise the standards of automotive engineering in Sri Lanka and maintain it at a high level.
	To promote and development of the automotive industry in Sri Lanka and thereby contribute to the advancement of the national economy.
	To establish, foster and maintain relations with associations with similar or allied interests both in Sri Lanka and abroad.
	To establish and promote representational links with Regional or International bodies embracing the automotive engineering discipline.
	To foster and promote a high code or professional conduct among all the persons engaged in the profession of Automotive Engineering.
